Most hydrofoils currently use either M6 or M8 screws to attach the mast to the board, these are 6mm and 8mm in diameter respectively.  Armstrong's new Performance series masts use M7 screws.  Then, there are two types of screws in each of these sizes...flat head (countersunk) or button head. 

To measure the length of a flat head screw, measure the complete length, including the head.  For a button head screw, measure the length from under the head only.  Older Armstrong masts with the oval washer use button head M6 screws and require a specific type of wingscrew.

It is recommended that you measure the screws you are currently using prior to ordering.  It is a good idea to check to make sure these screws are threaded all the way through the track nut when the mast is installed but are not hitting the bottom of the track boxes. 

There really are no "standard" length screws because there are so many variations in equipment.  Our wingscrews are designated as the size of screw they are designed to replace.  The picture shown on the product page is the actual item listed.  If you are unsure about what to order, please contact us at scotshane@gmail.com and we will be happy to help.

Yes, it is possible to exchange or return an item.  There is never a restocking fee. However, the item needs to be unused with no visible wear or scratches.  You will have to pay for shipping to return the item and then again to ship the replacement item to you.  That means paying for shipping 3 times over so PLEASE contact us prior to ordering if there is any doubt about what you need at scotshane@gmail.com!

Wingscrews are designed to allow easy adjustment of your hydrofoil mast position while out in the water without the use of any tools.  This can be very useful when setting up new gear or after making changes to your foil setup.  Please do not use any tools to tighten your wingscrews or they could be damaged.  Our wingscrews are wider than most typical hardware store wingscrews or wingnuts so allow an average person enough leverage to tighten them properly.

Yes, it is possible to get custom wingscrews.  It may take some time (3-5 weeks is typical), but custom wingscrews can be ordered for no additional charge.

Shipping for 1 or 2 sets of wingscrews anywhere in the USA is $6.  3 or more sets can be shipped for $9. 

International shipping rates are automatically calculated depending on weight and location.  If you are unable to get a shipping quote for your country, please contact us.  It is likely possible to ship to most countries, but this may have to be done manually.  Also, please contact us for international shipments prior to ordering as it may be possible to ship for a lower price...no promises, but we'll try.

Saltwater is very corrosive so, if used in the ocean, it would be a good idea to rinse your wingscrews with fresh water after every use.  Even after doing so, the anodized aluminum can tarnish but this should not affect the strength or function of your wingscrews. If you leave your mast attached to the board for long periods of time, it is recommended to apply a little tefgel to the screws to prevent corrosion between the screw and track nut.  This is not necessary if using titanium track nuts.

It is very important to not use any tools to tighten your wingscrews as this could damage them. 

Our adjustable wingscrews are made from anodized aluminum and Grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium.  The wingnut portion is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum or titanium, depending on version selected.  The screw is Grade 5 titanium, as is the little screw on the top. There is an internal spring which is made from 316 (marine grade) stainless steel since titanium is not a good material for springs.

We want you to be happy with your purchase.  Provided you do not use any tools to tighten your wingscrews, we will repair or replace any damaged wingscrews for a period of 6 months from date of purchase.  We are continually trying to improve our products so if you manage to damage one, please send us a picture.  Be advised that saltwater will tarnish most metals and this is not covered under warranty.
